SONY’S THE BRITISH INTELLIGENCE OFFICER EXAM #
We created a throwback text based game for Skyfall, and people loved it. #
The British Intelligence Officer Exam was a game we made for the release of the James Bond film “Skyfall”. There were a couple caveats - we couldn’t actually say “James Bond”, “Skyfall” or anything having to do with Bond, and we also couldn’t use or hint at any plot points of the Skyfall film.
That in mind, we built a game that would allow us to simulate the training that a person would go through if they wanted to work in British Intelligence like our friend Mr. Bond.
The game is an entirely text-based application. You play by talking to an agent in the field and helping him solve secret agent problems, occasionally soliving those problems using a Sony product. The agent was played by our very own AI (built on top of a highly modified Cleverbot instance), and could respond to your commands with wit and verve.
For selected influencers, we also built an “aural unlock” for the game - essentially we reengineered Shazam for the browser, and in order to unlock the game, a song based on the whistling of a European Barn Swallow was required - thus adding a level of physicality to an otherwise all digital experience.
